AmberLiteā¢ Ion Exchange Softening & Dealkalization Resins
These resins are used for removing hardness-causing cations (like calcium and magnesium) from feedwater, preventing scale formation. The process involves using a strong acid cation (SAC) resin in sodium form for replacing hardness ions with sodium ions. For high Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) water, a high-capacity weak acid cation (WAC) resin in sodium form is employed. For dealkalization and partial softening, a weak acid cation resin in hydrogen form is used, which converts bicarbonate alkalinity to CO2, removable by degasification. There’s also an option for dealkalization using a strong base anion (SBA) resin in chloride form
